Slit Rolling Process

  The process of slit rolling is to roll two or more deformed or plain rods in parallel from a single billet in a rolling mill either of cross country type or continuous type. In actual process the single billet is divided into two or more rods by applying axial force which is done by using special pass design. One of the major advantages of split rolling is use of full capacity of reheating furnace, roughing mill and intermediate mill in case of smaller rod sizes of 8mm to 12mm. These sizes production is limited by the cooling bed handling capacity. Another advantage of such system is that it increases entry point speed of plant which in-turn provides better temperature gradient and longer roll life. Also slit rolling can be used to enhance and increase production at minimum additional cost and space.  It is Unimeec’s consistent focus to provide their clients with solutions which are efficient and also cost effective.
